Boys and Girls age 14-18 can now join the Fire/EMS cadet program. The cadet program will allow you to learn about firefighting and/or EMS, and it will give you a hands-on opportunity to use these skills. Training and uniform will be provided by the department. Please make sure you check your clothes dryer vent once a year to prevent fires. If you have any questions on how to inspect your dryer, call 360-595-0130. Glenhaven residents and those in district 18 living near a hydrant can now save money on their home insurance rates. George Henderson worked with John Simmons to make sure the neighborhood fire safety exceeded previous standards. By ensuring that an adequate water supply is available and in close proximity of all residents, George was able improve the fire rating from a class 8 to a class 6. A copy of the letter can be sent to your insurance company for details. The Free CPR/First Aid course for babysitters (ages 10-18) is accepting names.
