  • Burn Ban now in Effect! The burn ban is currently in effect. This means absolutely no outdoor burning aside from recreational fires. See the FAQ page for information about the rules of a recreational fire. The rules will be strictly monitored during the Burn Ban. Also, be aware that a full day of heavy rain does not mean it is safe for a fire. For more information about burning, call the Whatcom County Burn Ban hotline at 360-676-6934
  • A Free CPR/First Aid course for babysitters (ages 12-18) will be offered in mid-July. This free course will cover the basics for providing immediate emergency care to infants and kids. It'll also teach you when to call 911. At the conclusion, students will receive an American Heart Association CPR and First Aid certification for pediatrics. The fire department will be paying the expenses of the course and certification fees, so it will be free to all who attend. To be added to the waiting list, call George Henderson at 815-7691.
  • The Fire Bells Car Wash will be Saturday, August 23rd from 10am-2pm at station 26. The money raised by donations from the car wash will go towards equipment, supplies, or additions to the Fire Department. Tell all of your friends and save up the dirt on your car for our big day!

  • The Annual District 18 Barbeque is set for Saturday, September 13th from 11am-5pm at the Glenhaven Lakes Club House. The barbeque is the Firefighter's Association's one and only yearly fundraiser. The money raised goes towards medical and fire equipment* and the Firefighter's Annual Awards Banquet. We'll have food, games, new t-shirts for sale, the Fire Bells Silent Auction, and prizes! Bring your family and big appetites for a great time!

*Our last barbeque, sponsored by Haggen and Edaleen Dairy, helped us with the purchase of our Thermal Imaging Camera (TIC). The TIC reads heat, so we can find fire and people when it's too dark or smoky to see them. This device can save lives, homes, and property.

  • The Third Annual Craft Fair is tentatively scheduled for November 8th at the Glenhaven Lakes Club House. If you would like to put up a table at this fair, contact Kelly Crowe for details.
